Happy New Year to All the Amazing Mums and Dads 🎉
As the New Year begins, I want to wish you and your family a year filled with health, balance, energy, and moments of joy—even in the middle of the beautiful chaos that parenting brings.
The New Year often arrives with pressure: new goals, new routines, new expectations. But as mums and dads, you’re already carrying a lot. So this year, let’s approach things a little differently—with compassion, intention, and sustainability at the heart of everything.
Reflect Before You Reset
Before setting goals, take a moment to pause. The past year may have included sleepless nights, school runs, work deadlines, packed lunches, emotional load, and constant giving. Acknowledge that. You don’t need to “fix” yourself—there is nothing wrong with you.
Ask yourself:
What worked for me and my family last year?
What drained my energy?
What do I want more of this year—not just to do, but to feel?
Letting Go of What No Longer Serves You
The New Year is just as much about release as it is about renewal.
This may mean letting go of:
Unrealistic expectations of being “perfect”
Guilt around not doing it all
All-or-nothing health habits
Comparing yourself to other parents
Letting go creates space—space for calm, for clarity, and for habits that actually support your life rather than compete with it.
Setting Goals That Fit Real Life
As parents, goals need to be realistic, flexible, and kind.
Instead of:
“I’ll work out every day”Try:
“I’ll move my body in ways that feel good, 3 times a week”
Instead of:
“I’ll completely overhaul my diet”Try:
“I’ll add one nourishing habit at a time”
Small, consistent actions build momentum—and momentum builds confidence. Your health journey should support your family life, not add more stress to it.
Refreshing Your Energy
Energy is one of the most valuable resources for mums and dads—and it’s often the most depleted.
This year, focus on:
Fuel: Eating regularly and nourishing yourself (not just finishing the kids’ leftovers)
Rest: Prioritising sleep where possible and honouring rest without guilt
Boundaries: Saying no when you need to protect your energy
Joy: Making time for things that light you up, even in small doses
Energy doesn’t come from doing more—it comes from caring for yourself consistently.
A Year of Revitalisation
Revitalisation isn’t about a dramatic transformation. It’s about feeling more like you again. Stronger. Calmer. More present. More connected to your body and your needs.
This year, give yourself permission to:
Start where you are
Go at your own pace
Choose progress over perfection
You deserve to feel healthy, energised, and supported—not just as a parent, but as a person.
Here’s to a New Year of gentle growth, renewed energy, and habits that truly serve you and your family.
Happy New Year 💛You’ve got this—and you don’t have to do it alone.
